About Me
Hi! I'm Alix Danvy, a computer science student at the École Normale Supérieure de Rennes (ENS Rennes in short). I'm currently doing a four months internship on the topic of contingent planning and working logic data structures under the supervision of Pr. Alexandre Niveau and Pr. Bruno Zanuttini in the MAD team at GREYC.
Last year, I completed my first year of the master's degree in fundamental computer science and ended with an internship at the Research University of Groningen (Netherlands) under the supervision of Pr. Jilles Dibangoye, working on solving Partially Observable Stochastic Games with a focus on Occupancy State Markov Decision Processes. And two years before that I completed my bachelor's degree in computer science at Université de Caen, culminating in an internship under the supervision of Pr. Alexandre Niveau and Pr. Bruno Zanuttini focusing on non deterministic contingent planning, in the MAD team at GREYC.
My interests span AI in a broad sense, decision-making theory, and data science. I also find pleasing compiler technology, although I am less enthusiastic about the assembly and hardware part. Additionally, I wish to deepen my knowledge on optimization and constraint programming because I find them fascinating and the possibilities they offer are vast in terms of applications that can do good in the world. Especially in the context of environmental and social issues. Outside my direct academic pursuits, I enjoy tutoring when I can, finding it deeply rewarding to help others understand complex concepts and offering them the tools to succeed in their studies.
Last year, I worked as a developer for the OBLiX project alongside Romain Noel and Thibaud Toullier in the context of my master's degree. The project is a code coupling framework, which is particularly useful for simulations but also has wider applications.
A few projects
Here are a few of the projects I have worked on so far (all of the listed projects are available on my GitHub): (not exhaustive yet, I'll add more when I have time) (and I'll work on better descriptions too, one day)
(Some) Personal Interests
I have a passion for fencing, climbing, horse riding, and tabletop role play. Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to engage in these activities recently. I also enjoy the tranquility of the countryside from time to time, which always feels like a refreshing break from working with computers all day.
